Bodysgallen Hall, a romantic country house hotel and spa on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, is offering one Gardens Illustrated reader the chance to win a luxury two-night stay for two.

Owned by the National Trust, 17th century Bodysgallen Hall enjoys a privileged location in North Wales with spectacular views of Snowdonia, and can also lay claim to one of Wales’s greatest hotel gardens. Surrounding the Grade I-listed house, the 220 acres of parkland include a rare 17th-century parterre of box hedges (shown below) filled with sweet-smelling herbs, natural limestone outcrops, a rockery with a cascade, walled gardens, a lily pond and several follies.

There is also a formal rose garden and a variety of well-established specimen trees and shrubs, including medlar and mulberry. By entering the promotion, the participants agree: (a) to be bound by these terms and conditions; and (b) that should they win the promotion, their name and likeness may be used by the Promoter for prearranged promotional purposes. 5. Entrants must supply to Our Media Limited their name and email address. Only one entry will be permitted per person, regardless of method of entry. Bulk entries made by third parties will not be permitted. 9. The winning entrant will be the first correct entry drawn at random from all the correct entries after the closing date. The Promoter may share the details of the winner with the prize provider for the purposes of fulfilling/delivering the prize. 10. The winner will be notified within 10 days of the close of the promotion by post and/or email. If the winner cannot be contacted, or fails to respond within 21 days of such notification being sent, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future promotion. 11. There is no cash alternative and the prize will not be transferable. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. The promotion is subject to the laws of England. 17. Prize is based on two guests sharing a double or twin bedroom. 18. Valid for stays for 12 months (from 1 November 2022 – 31 Oct 2023), Sundays – Thursdays, excluding Christmas and New Year (between 22 Dec 2022 and 7 Jan 2023), Easter and Bank Holiday periods. 19. Three course dinner each on one evening includes starter, main and dessert and a bottle of water. Alcohol and other drinks are not included but can be purchased. 20. Afternoon tea each on one afternoon does not include alcohol, which can be purchased. 21. Daily breakfast each is included. 22. A 25-minute spa treatment per person will be offered, which can be chosen from a list. Spa facilities may be used throughout the stay. 23. A brief guided tour of the gardens will be followed by coffee/tea in the hotel. This will be conducted by a member of the gardens team of a senior member of the hotel team. 24.
