RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018 Tom Stuart-Smith

Garden designer Tom Stuart Smith has eight RHS Chelsea gold medals under his belt, three of which have won ‘Best in Show’. He last competed at Chelsea in 2010 and in the eight years since has racked up an impressive profile of garden designs, many of which are for the RHS, including the master plan for the new RHS Garden Bridgewater, which is set to open in 2020. In 2018, Tom is returned to Chelsea to celebrate 60 years of the charity supporting Garfield Weston Foundation with The Weston Garden, an enclosed and romantic space right in the centre of the marquee.

In this episode, Tom explains why he agreed to create a Chelsea garden for the Garfield Weston Foundation and his motivation behind the sustainable message of the design.

I would like people to think more about gardens that take a bit of time to put together, that grow alongside you, and are not necessarily instant fixes
