The RHS Young Designer award was picked up by designer Will Scholey, who won with his Working From Home Garden. The 26 year-old created the space following the trend for home working during the pandemic.

The Young Designer award is given to entrants aged 28 and under, who are starting their professional careers in garden design. Previous winners include Kristian Reay and Ula Maria.

Elsewhere the Best Garden award was given to the Cotton Traders Greener Future Garden, designed by Lynn Cordall from Manchester.

The designer retrained after working in fashion, and her garden was a city centre imagined space for a retiring couple who enjoy the countryside. The planting was for wildlife, and features stinging nettles, sustainable water drainage solutions to help with water run-off.
